What is an FTP client?
An FTP client is a piece of software that allows you to transfer files from your computer to your FTP site. A lot of modern web-building software such as Dreamweaver includes FTP software as standard. If you do not have an FTP client, we can recommend FlashFXP as a good FTP client. If you are working with a strict budget, you might want to look at open source alternatives.
FileZilla is well supported across multiple platforms so no matter if you are using Windows, Linux or Mac OS X you can download FileZilla for free. Read more here: http://filezilla-project.org/ If you are familiar with Mozilla's Firefox browser then you can download a free FTP client that you can run in it's own tab within Firefox. It is called FireFTP and can be found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/684. |
